Australia and New Zealand Industry Trends Report – included in Basic Membership

This report shows key metrics and benchmarks from individual fundraising programs in Australia and New Zealand up to and including 2011. It is based on the sum total of all member charity fundraising activity. The report is designed to provide insight into the general market conditions of fundraising – for example, whether fundraising income is up, down or stable, and what types of activities contribute towards that trend.

The session will guide you through the key findings of the report and suggest ways for you to act upon them, drawing on evidence such as:

  • Average cash gift in 2011
  • Average cash gift through Direct Mail in 2011
  • Two year growth rate to 2011
  • Proportion of cash donors who are major donors in 2011 ($1000+)
  • Cash donor retention rate
  • Face to Face (F2F) Regular Giver year one attrition rate
  • Non-F2F Regular Giver year one attrition rate
  • Confirmed bequesters (as % of existing supporters)
  • Average bequest gift amount in 2011
  • Plus many more essential metrics

The report will be issued to all members who participate in this years’ Benchmarking and will be presented in Sydney and Melbourne as soon as the final report is published (expected to be early April 2012).

Individual Charity Level Report – included in Standard and Superior Memberships

This optional report will focus specifically on the performance of your charity. It is the only report format that provides named access to the individual performance and metrics of all member charities at an individual level. As such, it allows you to compare your own charity with the general market and your competitors in great detail.

It allows you to find out how you compare in 2011 and in previous years. What has changed, and how? Discover where you are above and below average, by how much, and what other charities are doing differently to you.

A Pareto Fundraising Strategist will deliver this detailed report in person, highlighting valuable insights about your fundraising activity, often contrasting it with the performance of other charities and/or the general fundraising sector. In an analytics-packed two hour session you will be offered advice and opportunities for improving your performance for the coming year.

The session will provide strategic interpretation, as well as guidance for developing those tricky key performance indictor questions such as:

  • What sort of donation levels should I be getting from my programs?
  • I’m losing 40% of my F2F recruits in the first year – is that bad?
  • How many donors have included a gift to our charity in their Wills? How does that compare with others?
  • What sort of growth over time should I see from my donor base?
